Ebook - Stretching the Borders~Yael Shachnay

http://www.amazon.com/Stretching-Borders-Yael-Shachnay-ebook/dp/B00MKB14MK
The book opens with Naomi and her ordinarily life with her husband and two teenage children. She works for a newspaper and focuses her spare time on cooking and art. They live in an apartment in the center of Tel Aviv. Somehow she becomes enthralled with her neighbours as she becomes almost obsessed with watching their lives through the windows that look into their apartment. She slowly, but completely, gets pulled into leading a double life full of lies and secrets. We also discover secrets of her past.

The book brings about many questions about relationships, infidelity, trust, guilt, and when to draw the line. The big question I found is what lies damage the most and when does holding back things that hurt actually end up hurting more. Naomi's own world is shaken and she has to face the hurt that secrets and lies can bring.

I really wasn't sure what kind of story to expect when the book started, but Naomi was a pretty easy character to connect with at the beginning. She was an ordinary mother and cared for her family. As Shachnay pealed back the layers of her character, it was easy to keep reading!

Overall, I was able to get through the book quickly and easily.  It was a good light read and I definitely reccomend it.  It is available on Amazon (.com and .ca)! Buy the book on Amazon!

Ebook - Abigail and the Jungle Adventure written by Tali Carmi

Ebook - Abigail and the Jungle Adventure written by Tali Carmi

This is a well written children's book about a girl named Abigail who finds a magical bicycle in her grandparents' house. The magic bicycle takes her into the Amazon jungle!  Abigail meets animals, people, and explores the jungle.

The story encourages creativity and imagination but allows children to ask real questions about real cultures. They are able to build upon their knowledge of the world and have fun at the same time!

My 4-year-old son was very interested in the entire story. He stopped me many times during the story to ask relevant questions and asked me to show him the jungle on a world map when we were finished. He was fascinated with the fact that the story was about a real place in the world!

I was immediately drawn into the illustrations. They are very well done and fit in the story perfectly! They are great for young children who are just listening to the story.  They fit with what is being read and allowthe child to make connections between what they are hearing and seeing.

This book is perfect for children ages 2- 8 and even beyond!  This book is available to purchase at Amazon.ca or Amazon.com.  I highly reccomend it!

International Delight(TM) ICED COFFEE

When I first saw an add for this product I was thrilled and started keeping my eyes open for it in the store.  When I was offered to try it for free through BzzAgent, I was equally thrilled!
Yum yum!  What else is there to say about this stuff!  Delicious, quick, and easy iced coffee.  I enjoy the flavours but find it a little too sweet for me.  I am very interested in trying the light one!  I think that one will be PERFECT for me!

Otherwise, the Mocha is by far my favourite!  It is almost like a rich adult version of chocolate milk!  What isn't to love!

Great Cloth Diaper Change

THE GREAT CLOTH DIAPER CHANGE

I live in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and on April 21st, I am not only participating in but also co-hosting The Great Cloth Diaper Change in my area.

Between myself and another great Mommy, we are working hard to provide awesome Swag Bags, door prizes, and an altogether good time!!

What is The Great Cloth Diaper Change??  Good question!
On April 21st, Mommies across the globe will change their babies CLOTH diaper and help to set a Guinness World Record for the most cloth diapers changed at one time!  Not only is this super fun, but it is a great way to show the world how many people are already choosing and using reusable cloth diapers successfully!  It is all about awareness!!  Cloth diapering is not only fun and easy but it helps keep those yucky disposables out of our landfill!! (THAT is awesome!!)

(from the GCDC homepage: http://greatclothdiaperchange.com/?page_id=26)
Why Cloth Diapers?
Reusable cloth diapers have many benefits, including:
  • Environmental: Cloth diapers reduce waste for families with children in diapers by more than 50%.
  • Financial: Cloth diapers allow families to save more than $2000 per child.
  • Health: Cloth diapers help parents reduce exposure of their babies’ skin and lungs to the chemicals in disposable diapers.
  • Cute and comfortable: Parents love putting soft cloth diapers, available in a variety of styles and patterns, on their babies.
  • Convenient: Once you’ve purchased your stash, no more weekly trips to the store to purchase more – simply put a load in the laundry!

Burt's Bees Sensitive!

Unrelated to cloth diapers, but awesome nonetheless.  I just got free product samples of the Burt's Bees sensitive line and just HAD to share how awesome this stuff is!

I have incredibly dry skin especially during the winter.  Most face lotions I use, irritate my face to some degree.  I usually get some tingle when using a lotion, which I am sure it the cells on my face crying and dying!  This stuff works wonders!  It hydrates without that terrible feeling and the face wash is super light but does the trick!  The lotion contains Rice Extract to moisturizer and Aloe to sooth! What could be better? Oh yeah, it is non-comedogenic (which means it doesn't clog your poors!)  The cleanser contains Quillaja, which is from the soapbark tree an provides a natural later! So  cool!

I have always loved the Burt's Bees brand with my children and now get to love it all over again for myself!  Way to go!!

Find yours at Shoppers Drug Mart or Walmart!

Cloth Wipes

How I Use Cloth Wipes

I've decided to include a video of how I fold my cloth wipes so that they conveniently fit into a standard pop-up wipes container.

I also keep my wipe solution in a spray bottle next to my wipes.  I use Monkey Doddlez Wipe Cubes (the same kind I sell!) and simply dissolve one in very warm water and keep this on hand.  Because it is in a spray bottle, I can also spray a little extra on babe if I feel it needs a little extra help!

I hope this all makes sense!

* I apologize for the crappy video- 1 handed wipe folding is about as easy as 1 handed video taking *
